The rain has stopped, and I'm struck by an odd revelation. OK, revelation is too strong a word, I had thought of this before but somehow the weather brought it into sharp focus: It is SO dry here. Yes, I know, it was raining for the last several days, I get that, but when it isn't raining? Zero humidity. I've never lived anywhere this dry. My skin is flaky, I have dandruff suddenly, my lips are chapped. I had always hated the humidity in Florida, but I guess my body had gotten used to it. I mean, I sweat here, but I walk A LOT. A lot, a lot. Up hills, down hills, over valleys, across streets, astride stairs, beside sidewalks, through crosswalks, atop overpasses, upon escalators, betwixt promenades. If I can balance even one foot on it, I walk on it, as is the custom here. But my skin has been sapped of its natural oils. If I had grown up here instead of Florida, I may never have had a pimple. Ever.
On a separate note, I'm up-to-date on Fringe, which means I have to WAIT for new episodes. Sigh, why can't all TV be produced at once so I can watch the entire series in three or four 8 hour marathon viewings? If you need me, Mister Mogu and I will be working on a time machine: I'll get Season 3 of Fringe even if it unravels the Space/Time Continuum!
Only good can come of this...
Hayden
I've been catching up on your posts from most-recent backward, and it's weird to hear you speak of an inventing mushroom before he's introduced. It's like a causality break! Wait... did your machine work after all?
